Wind Repowering Solutions

Full Repower

This is the decommissing, removal, and replacement of existing turbines with new turbines within the same project area. Full repowering also typically involves the removal or abandonment of the existing turbine foundations and electrical collection system. Often times, full repower projects require permitting and design efforts that are similar to the requirements of a brand new greenfield project.

Partial Repower

Partial repowering involves the replacement of certain main components such as the rotors, gearboxes, and blades while keeping other components for reuse. Towers, foundations, and electrical collection systems are often left in place if they are in good condition. Partial repower projects typically require much less permitting and design support since very little soil displacement is required and none of the project’s turbines or roads are being relocated.
