This position offers the opportunity to perform and direct field studies, desktop reviews, technical studies, and project permitting to a variety of private renewable energy and land development clients. The successful candidate will seek opportunities for growth and work on a variety of development projects across the country. This individual will directly oversee and conduct projects in a team environment, supporting existing cultural resource staff at times and working independently at other times. There will be additional emphasis on cultivating new regional clients and business development.

• The successful candidate will have experience with background research, field surveys and technical report preparation. There will also be focus on business development as we grow Cultural Resources services throughout the region.
• The position requires excellent communication, organizational skills, and the ability to independently conduct project tasks. Typical tasks include:
  • Cultural resources file reviews
  • Assessing site risk profiles
  • Drafting proposals and work plans
  • Leading document preparation in a team environment
  • Preparing or supervising the preparation of cultural resource technical reports
  • Coordinating with clients and sub consultants
  • Consultation with federal and state agencies
  • Direct supervision of field investigations

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Graduate Engineer to join our water/wastewater team in our Scottsdale, Arizona office. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Research and evaluation of data

• Conduct field reviews and other assessments

• Prepare detailed engineering calculations

• Assist with the creation and submission of technical reports, presentations and exhibits

• Prepare hydraulic modeling and technical reports for agency review

• Prepare detailed construction drawings, including horizontal and vertical alignments; plan and profile; utility design and rehabilitation

• Prepare construction cost estimates/quantity takeoffs

• Coordinate with internal team members, government entities, utility service providers and subconsultants

• Manage task assignments for budget and schedule adherence

• Perform reviews of all work product for accuracy

• Ensures division, regional, and company values, policies and practices are consistently followed within the survey service

• Lead by example – display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism

The Substation System Protection Engineer serves as an engineer on electric substation design projects for high-voltage utility systems and renewable energy interconnection projects. He/she will apply their engineering knowledge and experience to fulfill the principal duties and responsibilities listed below. He/she should be familiar with protection scheme functionality and have the ability to develop relay settings. He/she will also work with other internal and external project stakeholders to ensure project milestones and expectations of contracted services are met. • Ability to work seamlessly with and provide guidance to the P&C Design team in their development of the above-listed items
• Ability to provide technical support to field personnel, responsible for applying and testing relay settings
• Ability to coordinate efforts with all project team members by identifying coordination needs within specific disciplines (i.e., protection and control design engineers, transmission line engineers, distribution line engineers, telecom engineers, etc.)

Substation Designer – P&C

The Substation Designer would work with our growing Substation Engineering Team to prepare schematic and associated wiring diagrams for high voltage utility substations projects and renewable energy interconnections. The position would require the employee to work with engineers and consultants to create these drawings. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Computer aided design and drafting of all engineering products and deliverables.
• Collaborate with engineers and other drafters to correct discrepancies in drawings and designs.

He/she will apply NESC, NEC, and other applicable codes and standards in the engineering design and will also independently produce: one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, potential and current schematics, control schematics, alarm schematics, protection and control specifications, and I/O mapping. He/she should be familiar with protection scheme functionality. The ability to develop relay settings and associated points mapping is not required but preferred. He/she will also work with other internal and external project stakeholders to ensure project milestones and expectations of contracted services are met.
