Create and analyzing transportation plans for construction of utility-scale energy projects.
Develop construction traffic forecasts, using knowledge of construction methods, schedules, and material delivery logistics for renewable energy projects.
Lead traffic impact studies including coordination and review of pavement, geotechnical and structural components.
Perform logistical analysis for transport and delivery of oversize equipment on public roads.
Manage sub-consultant scope of work and execution of deliverables.
Work with project managers to scope and execute transportation and logistics analysis on multiple projects.
Manage the electrical engineering of commercial and utility scale solar projects and be responsible managing the electrical design budget for the project to insure budgets are met
Responsible for contractual electrical engineering scope, verify incorporation into design, and coordination of change orders with project manager
Responsible for insuring project deliverable schedules for electrical engineering scope are met
Assist project managers in responding to RFP’s by preparing proposal scope and fees for the electrical engineering
Coordinate with other project disciplines including civil engineers, geotechnical/structural engineers, and surveyors
Schedule and plan necessary resources needed to support projects weekly
Perform and Lead Electrical Engineering design and creation of construction documents for projects as well as be the primary electrical contact for client
Oversee project electrical team resources and be responsible for staff performing electrical calculations and studies such as short circuit, load flow calculations and voltage drop.
Coordinate with clients, utilities, and code enforcement officers.
QA/QC of design work performed on projects for which you are the lead electrical engineer responsible for the project
Maintain awareness of currently available equipment and industry best practices
Collaborate with and support electrical engineering teams in other offices as projects and workload sharing between offices dictates.
Support construction of the projects by responding to contractor and owner requests including RFIs and submittal review
Assist Market Directors as needed for marketing efforts and creation of marketing materials surrounding electrical engineering work
Supervise technical staff in the preparation of utility engineering designs, cost estimates, and customer billing.
Manage schedules and assign technical staff projects and daily work.
Manage the development of the technical staff through mentoring, instructing of technical engineering principles and governing electrical and safety codes.
Instruct and teach the technical staff in areas of company policies, safety, terms and conditions under which Westwood provides service.
Instruct and teach the technical staff in the use of computer systems and software, tools and equipment, and company owned motor vehicles.
Manage and provide guidance and direction for professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Coordinate internal/external reviews of designs completed prior to submissions.
Evaluate the performance and development of technical staff.
Collaborate with the Manager, Distribution Engineering to develop, evaluate, and implement new policies and procedures which reflect best engineering practices.
Collaborate with other departments and divisions on company-wide initiatives.
Perform the duties of the Distribution Engineering Manager when the manager is unavailable.
Maintain great relationships with our existing clients and seek out opportunities with potential future clients.
Lead and oversee all pursuit-related activities, including qualifications, proposals, and presentations, ensuring alignment with corporate brand identity and marketing plans for the Land Division/Public Infrastructure Division.
Train marketing staff in all aspects of pursuit-related activities, enhancing their skills and knowledge.
Assist in identifying and vetting potential opportunities through collaboration with market and service leaders, ensuring all opportunities are recorded and updated in the company CRM.
Direct the go/no-go process, optimizing the marketing team’s time and resources.
Manage team resources and schedules for local pursuits, implementing established win strategies for individual pursuits to ensure quality and timely submissions.
Maintain up-to-date firm lead-finding registrations and manage annual registration updates.
Collaborate with other Marketing Managers to balance workload and ensure brand and message consistency across regions.
Support business development leads with marketing strategies and provide additional marketing support to the Corporate Branding and Communications team as needed.
