As part of our Public Infrastructure team, you will be dedicated to becoming proficient in Design Software, performing technical calculations, preparing plans and specifications, and assisting with other project management and engineering tasks. In pursuit of a Professional Engineering license, the applicant must be organized, self-motivated, and able to collaboratively solve complex issues on time and within budget.

The Engineering Manager, Transmission is responsible for the leadership and day-to-day operations of the Transmission Engineering group, overseeing a team of technical designers, engineers, and supervisors engaged in the development of engineering designs, cost estimates, and technical deliverables for clients across Westwood's power line portfolio. This role carries accountability for the group's performance, quality standards, and regulatory compliance, while actively driving staff development and continuous improvement initiatives. 

Reporting to the Director of Transmission Engineering, the Engineering Manager will direct resource planning and forecasting, evaluate staff performance, and collaborate cross-functionally with other practice groups and firm leadership. This role also serves as the acting Director of Transmission Engineering in the Director's absence, requiring a broad command of both operational and strategic responsibilities. The Engineering Manager will maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities to expand the firm's footprint with new and existing clients. 

The Transmission Engineer III will be part of an electric transmission design team and will be responsible for the engineering and design of multiple projects ranging from small “quick turn-around” to large complex power lines. This position provides the opportunity to directly apply your knowledge of engineering to design projects ranging from 34.5kV to 500kV.

As a Transmission Line Engineer, you will apply NESC, NEC, ASCE and other applicable standards in the engineering design and will independently perform engineering analyses, plans and specifications, as well as material procurement and construction documents

The Transmission Engineer III will be part of an electric transmission design team and will be responsible for the engineering and design of multiple projects ranging from small “quick turn-around” to large complex power lines. This position provides the opportunity to directly apply your knowledge of engineering to design projects ranging from 34.5kV to 500kV.

Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. This role is primarily responsible for supervising a staff of technical designers and engineers responsible for the development of engineering designs, cost estimates, and communication of technical and design information to our customers. The supervisor manages and evaluates the performance of assigned technical staff and proactively initiates measures to correct instances of work product not meeting established quality standards. The role ensures compliance with client procedures, design standards, state and federal regulatory requirements, and safety code requirements and, at times, will collaborate closely with engineers performing substation, transmission, renewable energy, power storage, and communication design.
