• Assisting Registered Professional Surveyors with CAD production, deed research, boundary analysis, easement preparation, legal description, and computing survey points

• Assists Project Surveyors and Project Leads with CAD production, boundary analysis, research, legal description and easement preparation, deliverables review, computations, adherence to specific state statutes, and other survey-related responsibilities.
• Works with the Professional Land Surveyor to define project tasks, schedule, and resource requirements.
• Works with Professional Land Surveyors to evaluate property boundaries in metes and bounds and public land survey states.
• Travels occasionally for courthouse research and field crew support.
• Coordinates with field crews and office staff.
• Performs self and peer review QA/QC checks.
• Stays current on service-specific trends, technology, software, hardware, and equipment.

• Prepare various exhibits and design drawings using AutoCAD Civil3D
• Coordination with agency staff and internal support teams on designs, analysis, and issues
• Preparation of entitlement documents in support of Tentative Maps, Vacations, Zone Changes, Entitlements, etc.
• Calculation of quantities using Microsoft Excel and justification letters using Microsoft Word
• Assist with construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil3D including grading plans; plan and profiles; construction details; storm drain, water and sewer facilities; signage and striping plan

The qualified individual will provide field services and office report preparation to support the planning, design, and approvals of site improvements for wind and solar energy projects as well as residential and commercial land development projects. Responsibilities will include:

• initial desktop-level research (photo-review, soils maps, hydrology)
• onsite routine field wetland delineations across Wisconsin and occasionally across the country
• attendance of regulatory meetings
• report preparation
• vegetation and hydrology monitoring
• tree and shrub inventories

The position will involve periodic travel, both within Wisconsin and the upper Midwest typically 1 to 2 weeks per month between the months of April-October but may be more during the busy portions of the field season.

• Performs all aspects of design for high voltage (4kV – 230kV) and EHV (above 230kV) substation projects to include:

  -Alarm schematics
  -Communications schematics
  -Wiring Diagrams
  -Protection and control specifications
  -I/O mapping
  -Documentation for Design Calculations
  -Construction Documentation (Sequence and RFP)
  -Technical Support
  -Procurement and Construction Coordination
  -Ability to work seamlessly with a P&C Designer to develop the above-listed schematics as well as the associated wiring diagrams.
  -Ability to coordinate efforts with other external and internal project team members, with familiarity in identifying when coordination is needed with certain design disciplines such as transmission line engineers, distribution line engineers, telecom engineers, etc.

You will be expected to:

• Assist Project Managers in the drafting and design of utility scale solar projects.
• Provide professional and technical support to multiple Westwood projects.
• Day-to-day support and input to internal and external Project Managers.
