In this role, candidates will be directly responsible for the growth of the business unit, the development of engineering designs, the preparation of proposals/estimates, and the communication of technical and design information to our customers. The position is for an engineering manager to oversee design teams for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems design. This individual is also be expected to serve as an Engineer of Record for Projects and Designee for Westwood COA where required by states where licensed for. As an Electrical Engineering manager – Solar the individual would be responsible for addressing concerns/issues from Market leaders and or Clients/Owners related to the service. This individual would support continual process improvement and be responsible for standards and QA/QC Documentation. This individual would also be responsible for coordinating utilization and workload between offices and services/subservices to balance/prioritize workload. 

• Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Transmission Line design staff and operations.
• Manages resource balancing and forecasting across various clients and projects.
• Manages the development of the supervisory staff and principal engineers through mentoring and hands-on instruction.
• Manage and provide guidance and direction for professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead initiatives to improve efficiencies, quality of product, and marketing opportunities.
• Evaluate the performance and development of technical and supervisory staff.
• Collaborate with Division Leadership to develop, evaluate, and implement new policies and procedures which reflect best engineering practices.
• Collaborate with Division Leadership to develop new client opportunities and capture market share.
• Collaborate with other departments and divisions on company-wide initiatives.
• Maintain relationships with our existing clients and seek out opportunities with potential future clients.

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Site Design Engineering Intern to join our Wind Renewables team in our Minnetonka, MN office in the beginning of summer 2026. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. 

Note: This position offers flexible pathways—join us as a summer intern or commit to a full co-op experience by taking a semester off to work full-time at Westwood. Both options are eligible for college credit where your program allows.

• Provide professional and technical support to multiple Westwood projects
• Due diligence and site investigation
• Site design including facility plan & profile, cross sections, grading and erosion control plans, and stormwater management facilities.
• Preparation of specifications
• Analysis of existing delivery routes to determine existing road conditions.
