Traffic Engineering Intern

The Traffic Intern will join a traffic engineering team supporting signal design, traffic studies, and roadway safety projects for municipalities, counties, DOTs, and other public agencies. Projects range from small intersection improvement studies to large corridor signal timing and traffic impact analyses supporting regional transportation networks. This position offers direct opportunity to apply traffic engineering coursework to real-world public transportation projects.


As a Traffic Intern, the selected candidate will learn to apply industry standards — including state DOT traffic designs — while assisting Senior Engineers in the preparation of traffic studies, signal plans, and signing and striping plans. The intern will build foundational proficiency in the traffic analysis and design software used throughout the traffic engineering practice.
