Duties and Responsibilities

The Project Engineer is responsible for coordination, studies, and deliverables that support transportation and traffic related permitting and construction of renewable energy projects. Project Engineers apply general engineering knowledge to design and complete transportation tasks and training in conjunction with overall project permitting and construction deliverables. They also train and review work by staff engineers and technicians, develop a holistic perspective of the project lifecycle, and participate in client and local government interactions.


  • Support Lead Engineers and their teams with transportation scopes across wind, solar, and battery storage projects.
  • Ensure consistency and adherence to company standards across all transportation deliverables.
  • Train Lead Engineers and other Project Engineers on transportation and traffic-related scopes to support individual projects.
  • QA/QC work done by Lead and Project Engineers.
  • Independently evaluate, select, and adapt standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Communicate with individual counties, towhships, cities, and Authority Having Jurisdictions (AHJs) across the United States to ensure smooth permitting processes.
  • Collaborate with and direct field staff and technical experts to complete design tasks and produce project deliverables that meet stakeholder requirements and adhere to relevant codes and standards.
  • Develop an understanding of the project lifecycles and how it may affect local roads and traffic.
  • Gain specialized knowledge and develop engineering skills through mentored experiences.
  • Coordinate and build working relationships with subconsultants to support client needs and schedules.
