The position is for an electrical engineer to design solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, which includes plant layout, selecting appropriate system hardware, system optimization, determining power generation and interconnection requirements, and being a leader portions of the electrical engineering of projects. As an Electrical Project Engineer the individual will coordinate with the Project Lead, and Senior Engineers, to maintain firm standards and consistency as well as oversee junior engineers, electrical designers, and drafters on the project. This position may also include supervision responsibilities of an intern and/or new grad for timesheet/expense/PTO approval, annual growth planning, and disciplinary actions

The role is primarily responsible for the cost-effective conceptual and engineering solutions to upgrade, expand, maintain, and automate overhead and underground power distribution systems for our clients using various software systems and engineering/construction standards. The role ensures compliance with client procedures, design standards, state and federal regulatory requirements and safety code requirements. They will execute projects under the lead of a Senior Engineer and will work closely with engineers performing substation, distribution, transmission, renewable energy, power storage, and communication designs. Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Power Distribution Engineering Technician. The Power Distribution Engineering Technician (Field Support) will be responsible for conducting field inspections and staking requests while, at times, performing assignments associated with the design and engineering of overhead and underground facilities of various voltage levels. The Power Distribution Engineering Technician (Field Support) ensures compliance with safety code requirements, state and federal regulatory requirements, client procedures, and design standards. They will execute fielding/staking requests and learn projects under the lead of a Senior Engineering Technician, working closely with engineers performing other distribution, renewable energy, power storage, and communication designs.
