Work as a key member of a roadway design team under the direction of a Project Engineer/Project Manager. Job duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Research and evaluation of data

• Coordinate with internal team members, government entities, utility service providers and subconsultants

• Work with a team, or independently, in the preparation of various roadway design elements using local (state, county or city) and/or AASHTO standards, including horizontal and vertical alignments; plan and profile; utility design and relocation; streetscape and roadway improvements; bicycle and pedestrian facilities; signing, striping and signalization
• Prepare detailed construction drawings using Autodesk Civil 3D
• Produce high quality work and perform quality assurance checks
• Coordinate with other disciplines and support services
• Identify applicable codes, standards, or other design requirements
• Supervise the work of less experienced technical support personnel
• Mentor and train technical support personnel

• Works with Division Service Leader or Regional Survey Leader and local market leaders to develop and implement a strategic plan to advance service initiatives in the office that supports the goals of the division. • Provides leadership, mentoring and empowerment to service team in the office• Works with local market leaders to develop short- and long-term growth plans for the survey service.• Partners with local market leaders and project managers on project proposal efforts, including scope and fee, for survey service projects. • Ensures company culture, policies and procedures are consistently implemented within the service team in the office.• Stay current on service-specific trends, technology, software, hardware and equipment. • Serves as an overhead transmission line design technical specialist and has knowledge and skillset to provide consultation and guidance to project teams. • Review of all aspects of high voltage overhead transmission line projects including but not limited to: Line routing, Structure spotting, Structural analysis and design, Foundation design, Hardware selection, Conductor and shield wire selection, Material specifications, and technical support during construction.• Develop technical specifications, specifications, QA/QC procedures, deliverable templates, and other means of increasing efficiency in our day-to-day operations. • Assist clients with bid and evaluation processes, including structure procurement and construction services.• Review design documents for construction, including plan & profiles, structure load tree drawings, structure framing, bill of materials and foundations design drawings.• Understand and interpret geotechnical reports and extrapolate information needed for foundation design software including L-PILE and MFAD.• Leverages experience by mentoring and training lower-level professionals including top graduates entering the field of transmission line design. • Keenly focused on production of high-quality work and supports continuous improvement efforts. • Understands client interests and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work. • Ability and willingness to travel to various locations and work sites to meet with clients and support project work.• Demonstrating proficiency utilizing relevant design software and having the know how to teach members of the team.• Experience mentoring others.• Experience showing ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
