Katie Penning, PE

Katie joined Westwood in 2015 as a Senior Project Manager with an established background in wind and solar energy development and design, and has progressively advanced in leadership to her current role leading Westwood’s Solar market. Her renewable energy journey spans solar, wind, and energy storage projects across the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of project development from site selection through construction. Katie is an expert at planning early stage projects with the end goals of constructability and operational efficiency in mind to support projects that are successful in the long term.

As Vice President of Solar, Katie leads a dynamic team of project management professionals and leaders focused on strategic market expansion, business development, and operational excellence. Her current role is pivotal in driving organizational growth by developing robust project strategies, building long-term client partnerships, and integrating Westwood's comprehensive engineering, environmental, and survey services across solar hybrid project portfolios. Katie is passionate about connecting the diverse expertise within Westwood to realize our clients’ visions to advance renewable energy solutions on increasingly complex projects. She is dedicated to supporting Westwood's internal teams and clients, consistently delivering innovative solutions that position projects for success and contribute to the broader transition to sustainable energy infrastructure.
