Special Achievement in GIS
On July 11, 2018, members of Westwood’s GIS team received a Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) award at the 2018 Esri International User Conference held in San Diego, CA. The award recognizes Westwood’s efforts in setting new precedents for GIS. Award nominations are carefully reviewed, and recipients are personally chosen by Esri president and founder, Jack Dangermond. Westwood is proud to have been selected from the more than 10,000 Esri clients worldwide.
At the award ceremony, team members attending the conference accepted the award from Dangermond, and even had him help in representing team members not present for the photo op!
Westwood’s GIS team is constantly producing new and exciting solutions to support clients, either directly with a product or indirectly by improving processes for other Westwood services. The project highlighted for the SAG award utilized ArcGIS software to quantify the renewable energy site selection process and provide a defensible methodology for developers to advance site areas in their development process.
