Meet New Westwood Associate Cole Cappel

Cole Cappel Cole Cappel

Get to know our newest associates! We are excited to have them on our team and helping to lead Westwood forward. The associate designation at Westwood represents a team member who provides considerable value to the firm through their leadership traits and technical expertise.

Cole Cappel has been named a 2021 Westwood Associate. Cole joins 25 other Westwood professionals recognized as associates this year for their dedication to leadership and embodiment of the Westwood core values.

Cole is the planning and landscape architecture service leader in Westwood’s Denver, Colorado, office. In the seven years he’s been with Westwood, six of them have been in the Dallas, Texas, location working in a variety of planning roles. Cole values the varied experience he’s gained working in the Land Division because it isn’t the typical route of someone in his field.

“I’ve been involved with the planning and landscape architecture group, which is a unique experience from what a typical surveyor or engineer might have,” says Cole. “I took the initiative to uncover the goals I had for myself and really just go for them, which led me to where I am now in my career.”

Building a network within the organization is an important part of driving culture and growth for Cole. He says, “Plugging into the broader team across divisions and offices is important because when collaboration happens between different specialties and expertise, it opens doors for growth and big ideas.”

“Growing an organization truly requires all areas of expertise to come together for the common goal,” says Cole.

As a new associate, Cole is motivated to help others carve a path to reach their goals. “There is a lot of opportunity at Westwood, and that is exciting for employees because there can be many avenues to go down in your career,” says Cole. “Ask questions and find productive reasons to get to know others, especially across divisions and offices,” he says.

Congratulations, Cole, and thank you for your contributions to Westwood!
