Meet One of Westwood’s 2020 Top Culture Ambassadors, Nic Meyer
Each year, Westwood’s company awards acknowledge the contributions of top project managers, mentors, client champions, and culture ambassadors. Nic Meyer is one of our award winners. Find out what Nic enjoys most about working at Westwood and why he values relationships.
Nic Meyer started with Westwood five years ago to help grow the planning and landscape architecture group. When asked what he prides most about working with this group Nic said, “Creating a successful project that exceeds client expectations.” To him, there is nothing more satisfying than the client’s appreciation for the hard work the team puts into every project.
The teammates and employees throughout the organization are what Nic most enjoys about working at Westwood. Some of his favorite memories are late-night broomball games and volunteering for Feed my Starving Children. “Westwood is a team built on diverse backgrounds, varied experiences, and a wide range of expertise,” says Nic. “This allows us to deliver exceptional designs and solutions for clients and projects. Because consulting is a relationship-based business, it is important to gain trust by delivering sound and innovative solutions that meet the client’s expectations to build a respected reputation that fuels growth.”
Nic says that leadership and various mentors throughout the organization have helped guide and challenge him to grow throughout his career. Because of them, he takes pride in mentoring and assisting others in developing their careers. Nic mentors and teaches the importance that some of the best learning experiences come when projects do not perform as intended. “I think we all have humbling instances, and they are great motivators and learning experiences that can be drawn from for future projects,” says Nic.
One thing many may not know about Nic is that before joining Westwood, he worked at Walt Disney World. The workday at Disney World started at 4 am so any projects or installations within the park could be completed before the guests arrived.
Congratulations Nic! We are so thankful to have you on our team.
