Get to know our newest associates! We are excited to have them on our team and helping to lead Westwood forward. The associate designation at Westwood represents a team member who provides considerable value to the firm through their leadership traits and technical expertise.

Phil Ramlet, Director, Public Infrastructure at Westwood, is nominated as a 2021 associate. Phil earned the recognition due to his dedication to leadership and Westwood’s core values.

Phil joined Westwood in 2019 as part of its acquisition of OMNNI Associates, Inc, in Appleton, Wisconsin. Phil was with OMNNI for 31 years before the acquisition.

Of his associate appointment, he says, “I was flattered by the opportunity to be an associate at Westwood. It’s been an excellent company to work for, and the values are closely aligned to values that I’ve exhibited over my 39-year career,” says Phil.

Solving client’s problems is something Phil enjoys. He attributes his ability to do this successfully to his positive approach. “It’s an attitude and mindset that you have to have as a professional. You have to enjoy being in a challenging, fast-moving environment, as well as solving problems on a tight deadline,” says Phil.

Phil helps lead Westwood forward by doing what he loves to do: collaborate. He says, “I like to bring groups of people together and work as a team to solve problems. I feel it is the best way to approach challenges and arrive at better solutions for our clients.”

He continues, “It’s identifying the project, choosing people with the right expertise, and then assembling teams behind the scenes. Being innovative and taking initiative to solve problems in that way has worked well for me.”

Westwood’s mission of “Solutions for your Success” is powerful to Phil because it can mean a few different things. He says “Solutions for your success can refer to clients, but it can also be about yourself as an individual and professional. We need to solve our client’s problems and create solutions that attribute to all of our success.”

He continues, “People can marry what they want to do with the overall Westwood mission and figure out what will make them successful in conjunction with that. Looking at the mission that way is important.”

Thank you, Phil, for your contribution to the Westwood team. Welcome aboard!
