Each year, Westwood’s company awards acknowledge the contributions of top project managers, mentors, client champions, and culture ambassadors. Learn more about what Gretchen prides most in her work and some of the unique experiences she’s had while working at Westwood.

“I truly enjoy helping others; whether it is showing a new grad where to find information, helping an EIT learn a new skill, suggesting revisions to improve a design, or collaborating with a peer to find a solution to a design challenge,” says Gretchen when asked what she prides most about her work. This is also why the core value, dedication, speaks the most to her. “I believe in working hard to support both our clients and our team. I take pride in getting my work done efficiently and meeting my client's needs,” says Gretchen.

Gretchen’s diverse background and willingness to help has afforded her the opportunity to work with several different groups within Westwood. By trade, Gretchen works with the commercial group. However, she has done energy environmental permitting and, more recently, worked on decommissioning plans, and spent the last three months with the water resources group. Gretchen notes, “I enjoy the diversity, working with different people, and helping out where needed.”

While at Westwood, Gretchen has most enjoyed the opportunities for giving back. She has participated in many different activities such as Feed my Starving Children, trail clean up, sculpture building, packing lunches, and nursing home parties. “The opportunities are rewarding and offer a chance for social interaction with coworkers,” says Gretchen.

Many clients and contacts may be surprised to find out that Gretchen enjoys playing tennis. “Over the years, I’ve been fortunate enough to have been on four mixed doubles teams that advanced to the National Championships,” says Gretchen.

Congratulations Gretchen! We are grateful you are part of the Westwood team.
